Sunshine Themed Journaling Exercise

This journaling exercise is an excerpt from our July 2026 mid-month newsletter

In our main newsletter this month we explored solar magick, what it means, and how to practice it more in our daily life.

Having spent so much time talking about the sun, and being in it, we can't help but think about our own inner light. What can we do to take the warmth and love the sun gives us, and match her shine?

We've written some journal prompts for you to explore. You can write with them, or if you have a friend, you can use it as an exercise to talk through together.

Inner Light

  • If you had to compare your inner light to a time of day, what time would you pick and why?

    • ex: "Sunset, because I feel like I create a lot of color in my life, but I feel so tired.".

  • Where or when do you feel you shine the brightest?

    • Explain the specific reasons why you feel so bright there.

  • Where or when do you feel you have to dim yourself?

    • Why do you feel that way? Is there anything you can do to recreate the feelings from your brightest place?

  • Who in your life makes you feel brighter? Why?

Recharging

  • Where do you feel the most burnout in your life?

    • Is it related to the places you feel you have to dim yourself? Or are those things contributing to your burnout?

  • What weights are you carrying that you feel are preventing you from shining at your full capacity?

  • What hobby, activity, or person makes you feel more recharged?

  • What is at least one daily habit you can change to put more time or emphasis on stoking your inner flames?

    • ex: Calling a friend who brightens your day, finding 1 hour to put towards a hobby, or taking the time to eat a real breakfast every morning.

Solar Essence Candle Mantra - Pictured above is our Solar Essence Intention Candle. Today we share the mantra that accompanies it. May it inspire you to shine.

I rise with the sun, renewed and alive.

Each dawn brings strength, hope, and new beginnings.

I welcome the light that fuels my spirit.

Today, I shine with purpose and vitality.
